Join Our Volunteer Team!


With the help of thousands of volunteers each year, the Erie City Mission meets the needs of people experiencing homelessness and hunger in Erie. People like you truly make our work possible and help us fulfill our mission of Restoring Hope and Transforming Lives.

Join the Mission’s team of volunteers and show compassion, love, dignity, and kindness to our neighbors in need.

For those who need to fulfill school community service hours/service-learning requirements or court-ordered service hours, please complete the volunteer interest form below and select the appropriate category. The volunteer coordinator will then follow up with you and will also need to speak with the person requiring the service hours (probation/parole officer, community service director) for an initial screening. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian volunteer alongside the minor.

Please note: 

  • A volunteer must be at least 16 years old. If a volunteer is under the age of 18, a GUARDIAN RELEASE FORM must be signed by a parent or guardian. No one under the age of 18 is permitted to volunteer without an adult chaperone or a guardian present (exceptions may be made for specific volunteer opportunities). 
  • Long-term placement of an individual fulfilling hours for probation/parole is not guaranteed.
