Join Our Volunteer Team!


With the help of thousands of volunteers each year, the Erie City Mission meets the needs of people experiencing homelessness and hunger in Erie. People like you truly make our work possible and help us fulfill our mission of Restoring Hope and Transforming Lives.

Join the Mission’s team of volunteers and show compassion, love, dignity, and kindness to our neighbors in need.

We welcome groups (community and civic organizations, churches, schools) to volunteer with us for one-time opportunities or on a monthly basis. A group representative must complete the volunteer interest form below and indicate interest in serving as a group. The volunteer coordinator will then follow up with the group representative to schedule an orientation to discuss volunteer opportunities at the Mission.

*Individuals seeking volunteer hours in connection to any court-related matter or program requirement must have their court ordered community service representative (i.e. Probation/Parole Officer, Community Service Director) contact the Erie City Mission for an initial screening process.

Please note: 

  • A volunteer must be at least 16 years old. If a volunteer is under the age of 18, a GUARDIAN RELEASE FORM must be signed by a parent or guardian. No one under the age of 18 is permitted to volunteer without an adult chaperone or a guardian present (exceptions may be made for specific volunteer opportunities). 
  • Long-term placement of an individual fulfilling hours for probation/parole is not guaranteed.
