Love in Every Box, Hope in Every Meal
For over 15 years the Mission has worked together with hundreds of volunteers and community partners to distribute more than 1,000 Thanksgiving meals annually during it's Turkey Bag Distribution. As we prepare for this upcoming holiday season, we are thrilled to continue with our revitalized Thanksgiving outreach - Box of Love!
The Mission will continue to provide all the fixings for a traditional Thanksgiving meal for a family of 4-5 people, with a focus on sharing the good news of the Gospel alongside a delicious holiday feast.
Each Box of Love includes side dishes, a turkey, homemade dessert, and a Bible!
How to Receive a Box of Love
The Erie City Mission will begin distributing more than 1,000 bags on Monday, November 24 at 8 a.m. at their main campus, 1017 French Street, Erie. Distribution of Boxes of Love bags will continue until bags are gone.
- Arrive at 1017 French Street and join the line that begins at the courtyard on French Street.
- Bags will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. One box per person.
- There is no cost to participate and no identification is required.
- Breakfast sandwiches and hot beverages will be served to guests waiting in line.

How to Donate
Thank you to all of the churches, businesses, and individuals that have committed to donating the items in each bag!
Here are other items that you can donate:
- Financial donations to cover the cost of turkeys
- Coats
- Hats
- Gloves
- Hand and boot warmers
As we begin the preparations for this heartfelt outreach, we are seeking groups and individuals to donate the items included in each bag.
How to donate:
- Call the Erie City Mission at 814-452-4421 to reserve the number of bags you would like to fill.
- After September 3rd, stop by the Mission’s Main campus at 1017 French Street to pick up the bags.
- Fill each bag. (The shopping list will be attached to each bag.)
- Drop off bags at the Mission between Monday, November 11 and Monday, November 18. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. If you are unable to drop off during this time, please call 814-452-4421 to schedule a different drop off or a pick-up time.
How to Volunteer for Box of Love
Hundreds of volunteers are needed to make the Box of Love Thanksgiving Outreach happen. Consider volunteering during the outreach on Monday, November 25.
Volunteers are needed to help distribute boxes and turkeys, and to serve breakfast sandwiches and hot drinks to guests waiting in line.
Join the Mission’s team of volunteers as we distribute over 1,000 Boxes of Love, each one filled with all the food items needed to make a Thanksgiving meal.
