Thanksgiving Generosity

November 15, 2009 | Newsroom

The students are doing their best to collect 1,000 cans of vegetables to be included in the 1,000 "turkey baskets" being made to distribute at the Erie City Mission to families and individuals in time for their own Thanksgiving meal at home.

Cambridge Springs Elementary

The turkey baskets will contain everything needed for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, including a frozen turkey. They are being distributed on a first come first served basis on November 23rd from 9 - 3 at the Mission at 11th & French Streets in Erie.

The students were recently visited by a member of the Erie City Mission staff so they could learn all about how they are truly making a difference in the lives of their neighbors in need. This is the 4th year the students are helping the Erie City Mission by collecting part of the Thanksgiving meal.
