A Koinonia Christmas
According to Gotquestions.org, Koinonia (pronounced: coin-ah-nee’-ah) is a Greek word that occurs 20 times in the Bible. Its primary meaning is “fellowship, sharing in common, communion.” The essence of Koinonia is that believers in Christ are to come together in love, faith, and encouragement.
In that spirit, the Erie County Koinonia group will sponsor its annual Christmas party for the men living at the Erie City Mission. The party is Monday, December 7 at 6:00 p.m. in the Mission dining room at 11th & French Streets.
Erie City Mission “super volunteer” Char Richards calls the party an event that will warm your heart with the true meaning of Christmas. All are welcome to come and share in the fun and fellowship. Koinonia members and other volunteers bring tureens of home cooking to share. The night is capped off with a Christmas sing along.
Char notes that many of the men living at the Mission, while they find a “New Life” of recovery, are away from their families. Sometimes this is the only Christmas they have. The Mission is truly touched by the group’s caring and generosity in sharing the Christmas spirit.
