Help The Homeless Week

Calling all local schools, churches and businesses!

We want you to be part of the third annual "Help the Homeless Week".
Just lead an effort with your co-workers, classmates or congregation to help raise awareness of
the problem of homelessness and hunger right here at home.

HOW CAN I HELP?

  • HAVE A “DRESS DOWN DAY” Invite those in your school or business to donate a set amount for the right to go casual for a day.
  • HAVE A “MISSION POSSIBLE” CANDY BAR SALE They are $1.00 Pulakos Chocolates that everyone loves!
  • HAVE A COLLECTION DRIVE of funds/new or gently used clothing/furniture/personal care/baby items or paper products. Check out our needs list
  • CAN OR CEREAL COLLECTION CHALLENGE-Be the school or group to collect the most cereal boxes and/or create the most unique sculpture with your collection.
  • GO TO MAX & ERMA’S on Monday, February 23 for lunch or dinner—20% of your bill goes to benefit the Erie City Mission. Must have THE COUPON BELOW—be sure to share it!

    • ORGANIZE A TASK/DISCUSSION GROUP to see how you can help the homeless as part of your ministry. Erie City Mission DVD Special on Homelessness available to show to your group.
    • PRAY for all those who serve and are served at the Erie City Mission and choose to attend a county wide Prayer Service here at the Mission on Sunday night, February 22
    • Attend our Premier Event-KNOCK OUT HOMELESSNESS—Round 2 a boxing extravaganza hosted by Erie’s own Lou Bizzarro on Thursday, February 26
    • YOUR IDEA IS THE ONE WE WANT TO HEAR ABOUT!
